NREL's solar resource maps and data page hosts a variety of geospatial resources showing solar irradiance, photovoltaic potential, and related meteorological variables across the United States. These include maps of global horizontal irradiance, direct normal irradiance, and diffuse radiation; high resolution solar resource grids; and time series data derived from the National Solar Radiation Database. Users can download shapefiles and spreadsheets, view interactive maps, and integrate data into modeling tools. The resources support site selection, system design, and policy analysis for solar energy projects.
