MiGRIDS-lite
MiGRIDS lite is a lightweight version of the Microgrid Design and Impact Simulator (MiGRIDS) developed by the Alaska Center for Energy and Power. It provides code and sample data for modeling load profiles, renewable resource availability, and levelized cost of energy for microgrids serving remote Alaska communities. The GitHub repository includes Python scripts and datasets that allow users to explore how different combinations of diesel generators, wind turbines, solar PV, and energy storage affect power reliability and cost. MiGRIDS lite serves as an educational tool and starting point for more detailed microgrid planning.
