MHKiT (Marine and Hydrokinetic Toolkit)
MHKiT is an open-source software package developed by NREL, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), and Sandia National Laboratories for processing, analyzing, and visualizing data from marine and hydrokinetic (MHK) energy systems. The toolkit includes modules for resource characterization, device performance analysis, data quality control, and power conversion simulations. It supports researchers, developers, and educators working on wave and tidal energy projects by simplifying common analysis tasks and enabling reproducible workflows. The toolkit is available on GitHub with documentation and examples.
