BioPower Atlas
NREL's BioPower Atlas is a web-based tool that visualizes the spatial distribution of biomass resources and existing infrastructure related to bioenergy production. Users can view layers showing the availability of crop residues, forest residues, animal manure, and other feedstocks; existing biomass power plants; and transportation infrastructure. The atlas allows users to overlay multiple layers, query resource quantities for a selected area, and download data for further analysis. It helps developers and planners assess the feasibility of biomass power projects by identifying resource rich regions and proximity to facilities or markets.
