Kake Heat Pump Rate Analysis for Inside Passage Electric Cooperative
This report provides an overview of possible rate structures that can encourage beneficial electrification, with an emphasis on HPs, in Kake, Alaska. Inside Passage Electric Cooperative (IPEC), and Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks are interested in seeking technical and economic solutions that answer the following questions for the community of Kake in Southeast Alaska: 1) What rate structures are possible in Kake to encourage beneficial electrification, with an emphasis on HPs? 2) What are the benefits and costs of these rate structures?
