Wind Resource Maps and Data
NREL's wind resource maps and data page hosts downloadable maps, shapefiles, and tabular data depicting wind speeds, power density, and turbine class estimates across the United States. The resources include high resolution wind maps at multiple hub heights, offshore wind resource assessments, and datasets used for planning and modeling. Users can access maps for the contiguous United States as well as Alaska and Hawaii where available, and download underlying geospatial data to support site screening, feasibility studies, and policy analysis. The resources assist developers, planners, and researchers in understanding the spatial distribution of wind resources and their potential for power generation.
